Renowned Waveney Valley businesses St Peter’s Brewery and C & K Meats have come together to bring out a mouth-watering new product, C & K Waveney Valley Bacon.
Invitees gathered excitedly to sample the tantalising new offerings at the stunning 13th century St Peter’s Hall. Set in the heart of the Waveney Valley, within the beautiful landscape of St Peter South Elmham on the Norfolk/ Suffolk border, St Peter’s Brewery brew a range of classic English cask-conditioned ales. The internationally-renowned ales are made from Suffolk malts, with water drawn from their own source within the chalk layer well, situated under the Hall
Bringing together nearly four decades of butchery experience with a deep understanding of the local area, C & K Meats have chosen the best high welfare assured pork from right here in the Waveney Valley to make this very special bacon.
Graham Pentelow from C&K meats said “We’re extremely excited to be working with St Peter’s Brewery to create our new range of bacons. Some of the range will be entered into the National Bacon Connoisseurs Week competition in March 2013.
The bacon will be a truly local farm to fork product. The pigs from assured farms, processed at an assured plant, using award winning beers and all of it guaranteed from the Waveney Valley.
Our hope is to supply regional outlets from butchers, farm shops, garden centres, high street retailers to the tourism businesses of B&B, pubs, restaurants & hoteliers. We are proud of the quality of bacon we can supply, and that we are able to support the Waveney Valley Tourism brand at the same time.”
The meat is expertly wet cured using St Peter’s best loved ales. The result? Deliciously succulent meat with a distinctive hoppy flavour. Favourites included the Smoked Honey Porter and Best Bitter bacons.
The new beer-cured bacon is truly a celebration of some of the best produce from the Waveney Valley!
