Embark on a voyage of discovery to find PARADISE in the Waveney & Blyth Valleys (and maybe win a prize too!)

Until the 30th of September, a free booklet called Celebrate the Waveney & Blyth is available to pick up at various points in the area (or download it as a pdf here: Celebrate the Waveney and Blyth), and visitors and members of the local community are being invited to become “Paradise Pilgrims” for the day and take part in a voyage of discovery as part of an arts project funded by Norfolk County Council.

Artists from eight Waveney & Blyth visual art groups have each decorated one of the letters to spell out the word PARADISE and the job of a Paradise Pilgrim, is to find all eight of them, which will be on display around the area.

The booklet will help you find your way around and includes a pullout with a card (download it as a pdf here: Paradise Pullout) which you can get stamped each time you find a letter. Once completed, post your card to the address on the front, and you could win one of the prizes which have been donated by organisations up and down the Waveney and Blyth valleys.

Visitors are encouraged to seek out the letters by bike, on foot, by train, bus, or even by boat and the Waveney & Blyth Arts team has produced a sustainable transport map with a page of links to all the relevant transport timetables.

The letters spelling PARADISE have been produced by Malcolm Cudmore on behalf of Bungay’s Black Dog Arts; Paul Osborne from Great Yarmouth’s Papershaker; Carolyn Reeder  and members of Lowestoft Arts Centre; various artists from the Inspired by Becker Art Society; makers from Diss DesignerMakers@21; Lin Patterson from the Harleston & Waveney Art Trail; Ron Fuller from Southwold’s Craftco; and members of Eye Arts Guild.
